The Connected Families Project delivers the Adult SPACE Toolkit, a five-week programme designed to help parents and carers understand children’s behaviour through a trauma-informed lens.

Facilitated by trained practitioners, the programme explores how stress, attachment, and past experiences influence behaviour—both in adults and children—and provides practical strategies to build stronger, more connected family relationships.

Each session offers a safe, supportive, and reflective space for parents and carers to explore emotional wellbeing, develop empathy, and learn tools to respond calmly and compassionately to their children. The programme can be delivered online or in person, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of families.

Parents and Me: Feelings First is a 7-week experiential workshop series designed to help parents and children recognise, express, and manage big emotions — together.

Through creative activities, guided reflection, and practical coping strategies, the programme builds emotional literacy, strengthens parent-child connection, and supports long-term family resilience.

Many families find it challenging to navigate anxiety, stress, and strong emotions, especially when they show up as overwhelm or difficult behaviours. Without opportunities for shared emotional learning, communication and regulation can suffer.

Parents and Me: Feelings First offers early, supportive intervention that:

  • Develops emotional literacy for both children and parents
  • Teaches healthy, practical coping strategies
  • Strengthens family bonds through shared, meaningful experiences

By blending play, art, and structured reflection, this evidence-informed programme provides a developmentally appropriate and engaging pathway to stronger emotional wellbeing — for the whole family.
