Drawing and Talking

Drawing and Talking is an attachment based intervention, focusing on supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of children, young people and adults.  It allows individuals to discover and communicate emotions through a non-directive, person centred technique. Drawing and Talking is a 12 week, 1:1 intervention, each session lasts 30mins and it is suitable for anyone aged 6 to adults!

Who is drawing and Talking for?

Drawing and Talking is a gentle, therapeutic intervention that gives children, young people and adults a safe and supportive space to express feelings they may not yet have the words for. Through a series of structured drawing sessions with a trained practitioner, the person is encouraged to explore their inner world in a way that feels natural and non-threatening. This approach can be especially helpful for those who are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement, family changes, friendship difficulties, or emotional distress linked to trauma. It is also beneficial for those who find it hard to talk about their feelings directly but may communicate more freely through creativity and in the third person. At its heart, Drawing and Talking is about helping the person feel heard, understood, and emotionally supported so they can build resilience, confidence, and a stronger sense of wellbeing.
